artistically anyway. i stop taking drawing classes and my creative urges get tunneled elsewhere. writing, dreaming... and lately: knitting.

while i'd take pictures of what i'm knitting in order to have something new to put up here, it doesn't look like much yet.

i've been trying to teach myself to sketch with the tablet instead of charcoal and paper. its hard to get my mind wrapped around the idea of art that isn't at all messy. art without hands blackened with charcoal smudges, looking in the mirror when i'm done and seeing a clean face. not having to throw my clothes into the laundry because i'd dirty anything i touched afterwards.

photography was only really fun when i got to play with chemicals in the dark. slosh around a metal canister and pray that you got the film onto the reel correctly and didn't destroy that one perfect shot.

having that physical piece of artwork in your hands. something to put up on my walls.

the cheapest form of decoration.

my mother just had a couple of my pieces framed. neither were done within the last 5 years. nor are they on this site. that was before my entry into the digital realm for anything other than looking at what others had put on the internet.
